China-Laos Railway's first Laotian banana train arrives in Hunan

On December 12, the receiving ceremony of the first cold-chain banana international train on the China-Laos Railway was held in Hunan (Hongxing) Agricultural Products Circulation Industrial Park.

On December 7, the train carried 25 railway cold-chain containers, loaded with 500 tons of fresh bananas from Laos, departed from Vientiane, Laos, traveled north along the China-Laos Railway, and arrived at Mohan Port in Yunnan for inspection and quarantine, and then went directly to Changsha North Station via Huaihua West , and then shipped to Changsha Hongxing Global Agricultural Products Wholesale Center for distribution to various places.

In August this year, the People's Government of Hunan Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos signed a memorandum of cooperation on the "One Road, Two Parks" project. Agricultural cooperation and economic and trade exchanges, and strive to achieve an average annual import and export of agricultural products between Laos and Hunan exceeding 1 million tons during the agreement period.

The China-Laos Railway connects Kunming, Yunnan Province, China and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, and connects to Nong Khai, Thailand in the south. After the opening of the China-Laos Railway, the journey from Vientiane, Laos to the China-Laos border has been shortened from 2 days to a few hours, and Kunming can be reached in the morning and evening. At present, the imported fruit quarantine inspection point at Mohan Station in Yunnan has been officially opened. Fruits imported from ASEAN countries can be directly transported to Yunnan through the China-Laos Railway, without the need for truck transshipment, and the transportation time and cost have been greatly reduced.

This train is jointly organized byHongxing Agricultural Products Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Hunan Hongxing Yishu Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. and Laos Xuanye Trading Co., Ltd., and many fruit merchants in Hongxing Global Agricultural Approval Center. into Changsha. my country's banana market demand has been increasing year after year, and the import volume has increased from more than 1.03 million tons in 2017 to more than 1.86 million tons in 2021, an increase of 79.34%. This is the first "point-to-point" "banana train" that directly connects cities in mainland China since the China-Laos Railway was put into operation one year ago. In order to ensure the efficient customs clearance of the China-Laos train, Changsha Customs signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kunming Customs and wrote to the business again on this banana train, exploring the "integrated customs clearance", "port transfer", "railway express" and "conditional" of the China-Laos train. Facilitated customs clearance modes such as "lift off", "green channel" and "priority inspection".
